The Invisible Watchers
ongoing, since 2024
We hoped that progress would free people from routine work and allow them to engage in creativity, science and self-development. We have used the time freed up by evolution to endlessly search for ourselves and create entertaining content. Self-development has become partly synonymous with existential idleness.
And with that came a new layer. How to deal with emotional burnout. How to accept the discrepancy between the picture of the real world and the glossy picture in the social media feed. How to deal with Productivity Fatigue, Multitasking, and Self-improvement. Instead of a generation of happy and self-sufficient people, we got a client base for practicing psychologists.
Delivery Couriers are like Invisible Angel Observers who ensure that you stay in your comfort zone, which is gradually turning into a burnout zone.
I consider this project as a continuation of the theme of the South Korean-German philosopher Byung Chol Han and his research " The Burnout Society “. He says that we live in an era of exhaustion and fatigue caused by the constant pursuit of success.
I use parallels with well-known plots to show the absurdity of the changes that have occurred in the perception of the world.
